Guest Speaker
Our guest speaker for October will be Tim Murray, President and CEO of the Worcester Chamber of Commerce
Murray has served as president and CEO of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce since June 2013. He leads the Chamber's work in economic development, public policy, member services and other initiatives designed to support a vibrant regional business climate.
The Chamber's "recruit, retain and incubate" mission focuses on attracting new businesses, retaining existing companies and supporting businesses in emerging sectors.
Before joining the Chamber, Murray served as lieutenant governor of Massachusetts after being elected in 2006 alongside Gov. Deval Patrick. As lieutenant governor, Murray worked on initiatives involving job growth, education, ethics, pensions and transportation.
He also played a role in the state's negotiations with CSX involving the acquisition of rail tracks across Massachusetts and in Massport's acquisition of Worcester Regional Airport.
A lifelong Worcester resident, Murray previously served three terms as mayor of Worcester. During his tenure, the city saw approximately $1 billion in new economic development projects, including Gateway Park and City Square.

"The Living Sign"
We will be discussing plans for 2026/2027 to revitalize our Living Sign with your help.
Long before 'going green' became a catchword, the North Worcester Business Association took a significant step toward environmental awareness by constructing a 'living sign' along the northbound side of I-190. This living sign, crafted primarily from burning bushes that turn a fiery red in the fall, features a supersized version of the NWBA logo, incorporating the words 'Worcester' and 'NWBA'.
Emblazoned on a steeply sloped hillside, the sign officially welcomes motorists to the city as they approach Worcester from West Boylston and other communities to the north.
The support from the community has been remarkable, with many individuals and businesses contributing labor and materials to this signature project, which has now become a landmark for business in Worcester. Generous sponsors, including both individuals and local companies, have made yearly contributions to support the care and upkeep of this unique living sign, reflecting the spirit of Worcester MA business.
